FAQ
What material we need from you?
We require complete ready to print file from you. This can either be high resolution pdf files or it can be native layout file (InDesign or others) linked with high resolution Photoshop images, Please remember to include bleed allowance, crop marks(see printing terms)and all fonts. And we need CMYK file instead of RGB (see printing terms). And for the images, we usually require them to be of minimum 300 DPI (see printing terms). If you are not sure whether the file you prepared are okay to print, we suggest you can send us a few pages of files in advance, before you proceed to prepare the files for the whole book, as sample and we will review them and let you know if there is any issue in relation with the files.
Paper to be used for printing?
Basically, there are 2 major types of paper used for printing – coated paper or uncoated paper. For books printed in full CMYK color and with a lot of color images, people will choose coated paper to do the printing. And for coated paper, there is in turn 2 different coating – either gloss coating or matte coating. And uncoated paper are usually used for black ink printing only. But in recent years, there are also a lot of people using uncoated paper for full CMYK printing. For uncoated paper, since there is no coating, ink usually will be more fully absorbed by the paper, and hence the color will usually look more saturated than on coated paper. Same color will have a totally different appearance on coated paper as versus uncoated paper.
And paper also comes with different weight (thickness). Please indicate what weight of
paper you need when you ask us to quote on your jobs.

In majority cases, the proofs we supply will be Epson matchprints generated by proof plotters which is the most economical and standard way of proofing used widely by printers all over the world. It provide a good extent of accuracy to the final color.
